Coronavirus Statement

At the Wave Project, our priority is to ensure that all our participants, volunteers and staff are safe. We have been monitoring the health advice from the UK Government on a daily basis and are acting in line with their guidance.

In light of this, we are temporarily postponing our surf therapy sessions as a result of the knock on effects of the coronavirus.  We will also be placing a pause on new referrals being made to the charity during this time.

We fully intend to return to delivering surf therapy to young people when the UK Government advises us that it is safe to do so once more.

We know how much our students value their surf therapy sessions, and we look forward to returning to these as soon as possible.

Stay safe and well,

The Wave Project Team

Activity and Wellbeing Packs

At times like this, it is important to take a step back and refocus. At the Wave Project, we try to help young people do this all the time. By focusing on the sea or surfing, they take a step away from the whirlwind of thoughts and worries constantly going through their heads.

We can’t deliver our surf therapy courses at the moment, so instead what we have done is created two booklets available to download to help you be in a positive mental place at this time of crisis. Simply click on the links below.

The activity book is a weekly booklet full of fun games and ideas for you and your children. Check back each week. We will have a new one for you.

The wellbeing guide is full of practical tips and resources that may help you cope during isolation. To be clear, we are not medical experts and this is not a guidebook about avoiding getting ill. It’s about staying positive and mentally well for the duration of this situation.
