Elsa’s Swim for The Wave Project

Elsa joined her surf therapy course with us in April 2018, and was a complete natural on a surf board, a year on and Elsa has started a sponsored swim for the Wave Project! Her goal is to do 100 lengths per week for 4 weeks (which will be a total of 10km swam!) Not only is it all her own initiative but she’s also  set up her own Just Giving page and designed her own sponsorship forms.

Elsa want to raise awareness and some money to make sure others get the same opptunities. Elsa loved the fact when she came to a session “That there is always someone to speak to when I have problems, they kit you out with all of the gear and they always make you feel welcome.” Since her surf course and enjoying it so much Elsa has been an active member of The South Devon Surf Club.

At the end of her surf course her parents noticed lots of positive changes. “Physically fitter, stronger (upper body strength), more stamina, better sleeping and appetite. More likely to try something new and wanting to re-join her swim club at home. Says wants to become a surf champ; also says its inspiring to be around women surfers, as often its men you see with their surf boards. More confident and chatty and willing to participate in group activities.”

Elsa has already almost raised an amazing £75 with a target of £200 please show your support by making a donation here https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/georgia-white4
