Every volunteer at The Wave Project is instrumental in helping to improve the life chances of children and young people.
We are incredibly proud and grateful to have such a talented, passionate and committed group of people as our volunteers. They generously give us their skills, knowledge and time and are vital members of The Wave Project family. Last year alone our volunteers gave up 37,000 hours to help change lives.
Volunteer Surf Mentors
Work 1:1 with the young people, supporting them with their surfing; listening, encouraging and having fun!
Administration Volunteers (based in Newquay/remote working)
If you like volunteering in an office environment, enjoy answering the phone or working on a database or spreadsheets then this role is for you. You will be making a huge difference behind the scenes at HQ ensuring that our donors feel supported and we are maximising our opportunities for fundraising.
Shop Volunteers (based in Newquay)
Based in our shop in Newquay you will have the opportunity to help serve customers, speak to supporters, and enjoy the feeling of knowing that you are helping to generate vital funds. This is no ordinary charity shop but one selling surfboards, wetsuits, our surf therapy range and premium goods. It is a great chance for those looking to gain retail experience or for anyone wanting to get back into the world of work.
Fundraising Volunteers
No two days will be the same! Whether it is helping to run a stall at a festival, helping with bucket collections, attending a cheque presentation, using your contacts to help with fundraising or be a volunteer speaker we would love to hear from you. It is clearly a very varied role and we would only ever ask you to do what you are comfortable doing!
To join our team you don’t need any previous experience as training is provided. We only ask that you are passionate about helping to improve the life chances of children and young people.
