New luxury retreat partners with The Wave Project

A couple who have followed their dream by creating luxury retreat in Cornwall have chosen to partner with us to give back to the local community.

Andi and Adam Freeman set up The Cornish Place as a luxury cottage escape in the grounds of a 26-acre old dairy farm in Gwennap, Cornwall.

Existing stables and barns have been sympathetically converted into holiday cottages and small event space sourcing everything possible from local suppliers. Solar panels, air-source heat pumps and water from their private borehole.

The couple also wanted to support the local community in an effort to showcase the best of Cornwall to their guests. Choosing a charity partner to sponsor and promote was always a key part of their efforts to support sustainable tourism here in Cornwall.

Announcing their partnership with us, they said;

“We are very excited about becoming a Wave Project Sponsor and supporting the brilliant work they do to help provide life changing surf therapy to young people across the UK.”

The Cornish Place is donating 21 nights per year for us to use for fundraising, rewarding volunteers and team building events. Every guest who stays at the cottages will know that they are directly supporting our work.

Wave Project founder Joe Taylor said: “We are so happy to be working with The Cornish Place to promote surf therapy in Cornwall. As a charity, we are very grateful to Andi and Adam for their generosity in giving away so many nights at their wonderful cottages to support our work.”
