Plymouth University Student Volunteer Awards 2018

Plymouth University Student Volunteer Vaishali, has been nominated for a Plymouth University Volunteer Award for volunteering with the Wave Project in the academic year 2017/2018.

Vaishali started volunteering with The Wave project as a mature student and despite not being a surfer was keen to get into the water and start helping others see the benefits of surf Therapy!

Vaishali is studying Environmental Science and got stuck in with The Wave Project in her first term at the university. Out of the water she has done much needed jobs from putting up posters and telling her community about the work of The Wave Project. She has also been a complete advocate for the ocean environment we all love, participating at local beach cleans.

Her encouraging and warm emails to the South Devon team have kept us motivated on the darker winter days and The South Devon team can’t thank you enough for spreading the word about The Wave Project in Plymouth.
“Even the smallest act of caring for another person is like a drop of water, it will make ripples throughout the entire pond.” Bryan Matteo

Best of luck at the awards ceremony and we look forward to hearing all about it!
