Right now, 1 in 5 young people are experiencing a mental health challenge and around half a million are waiting for support. Traditional services are stretched. Too many young people are left without help at the moment they need it most.
Surf Therapy offers a safe, supportive space where young people can reconnect with themselves, with others and with the ocean (and other blue spaces).
It’s about so much more than just surfing:
Evaluation of our 2025 programmes shows:
These are clinically meaningful improvements, showing how powerful early, community-based support can be.
Across the UK, we deliver Surf Therapy at 15 Project Hubs across 24 beaches, supporting more than 2,600 young people each year. But for every young person we reach, many more are still waiting. This spring, as sessions restart and young people return to the beach, we are inviting supporters to POWER BEYOND THE SURF.
Because when one young person finds confidence again, the impact ripples out far beyond the shoreline: to their family, their school and the community.
For young people like Rosey, Surf Therapy is life-changing. After facing serious health challenges and time in hospital, returning to the sea felt impossible. With support, she found her way back.
