That’s why we’re taking action.
Dedicated wetsuit recycling bins are now available at Cornwall Council household waste recycling centres, managed by SUEZ. Collected wetsuits are sent to our Newquay store, where they are sorted, quality-checked and prepared to be reused.
Our charity shop in Newquay offers a wide range of pre-loved wetsuits from trusted brands including Patagonia, O’Neill, Rip Curl and Billabong.

By making wetsuits more affordable, we’re helping people stay in the water — particularly during the ongoing cost of living crisis — while reducing environmental waste.

All profits from the shop directly support The Wave Project’s Surf Therapy programmes, helping fund mental health support for children and young people across the UK.

This innovative scheme has been made possible through support from the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Good Growth Programme, enabling The Wave Project and SUEZ to tackle the growing problem of discarded wetsuits in Cornwall.
The Pre-Loved Wetsuit Scheme responds to the urgent environmental challenges created by fast fashion and throwaway culture. Clothing and textiles are estimated to account for up to 10% of global greenhouse gas emissions, and specialist items like wetsuits are particularly difficult to recycle.
By giving wetsuits a second life, we’re:

Where can I donate my old wetsuit?
You can donate your useable wetsuit directly to our charity shop in Newquay, where all pre-loved wetsuits are sorted and resold. Alternatively, you can bring the item to any of the dedicated recycling bins located at Cornwall Council household waste recycling centres, managed by SUEZ.
Can I donate a broken wetsuit? Can it still be re-used?
Yes, all wetsuits are accepted at Cornwall Council household waste recycling centres, as we strive to keep them out of landfill. Unfortunately, we currently cannot accept broken wetsuits at our shop in Newquay.
What brands do you stock?
We stock a wide variety of brands thanks to donations from individuals, SUEZ and local surf schools. You’ll find well-known names like Patagonia, Ripcurl, Billabong, Finisterre, O’Neill, Tiki, Snugg, Saltrock, Quicksilver, TWF and many more at our Newquay store. Prices reflect the make, quality and thickness, ensuring there’s something affordable for everyone.
What sizes do you stock?
Due to the nature of donations we stock a wide variety of wetsuit sizes for men, women and children, and styles with availability changing daily. If you’re unsure about your size or fit, visit our store where our team can help you find the perfect wetsuit. We have changing rooms available and will do our best to cater to your needs.
Do you sell secondhand wetsuits online?
We currently do not sell wetsuits online as all wetsuits are sent or donated to our Newquay store where they are quality inspected before being sold.
