Welcome to The Wave Project in South Devon!

We work with young people from across the South of the county. Our sessions run from three beautiful beaches; Bigbury-on-sea in the South Hams, and Goodrington in Torbay and most recently Sidmouth, East Devon.

Our Surf Therapy Courses are currently funded by the amazing Children in Need, and our sessions work due to our fantastic partnerships with Discovery Surf School, Reach Outdoors  and Jurassic Paddle Sports.

The first course in South Devon ran in Spring 2015 from Discovery Surf School, based at Bigbury. Our partnership with Discovery has grown year on year, and now we have a very active surf club community. Our second location started in 2018 in partnership with Reach Outdoors, based in Goodrington. The kids love the exciting board-based games and activities with our instructors and volunteers.

In 2019, we have six courses running in South Devon during the Spring, Summer, and Autumn. Surf Club sessions running from March to December. This is only possible because of our amazing volunteer team. You don’t need to be a surfer to volunteer, you can help in a variety of ways in out of the sea.

We are continuously fundraising to keep our project going. In 2018 we received fantastically generous donations from BOOST, Tescos, Devon and Cornwall Police Ski Team, Loddiswell Church, Quayclick. Plus a team of incredible heros doing challenges to fundraise for the charity from the Bideford Half, Ocean Half, Great West Run, Tough Mudder and White Collar Boxing.

Exciting news for 2019 as Holiofest has the Wave Project as their official charity of the year. Rockfish getting on board, as well as the Devon and Somerset Junior Lawyers Division doing a whole mix of events throughout 2019 to support us.
