Brett has served in this voluntary role with dedication, compassion and vision, leading the charity through a significant period of change and laying strong foundations for the future. Over the last few years, the charity has gone from strength to strength, and we are deeply grateful for the time, energy and commitment he has given.
Please join us in saying a huge thank you to Brett for everything he has done, and a warm welcome to Will as he steps into this important role.
Will has played a key role within the charity for over nine years, bringing strategic thinking and a deep belief in the power of Surf Therapy to change lives. As we continue to expand our reach across the UK, his appointment as Chair comes at a pivotal time in our journey.
Will is a Partner in the Commercial and Technology team at Osborne Clarke, where he leads the UK Commercial team. With a background in technology contracts and digital transformation, he brings a wealth of experience.
Siobhan Swift, Head of Operations at The Wave Project, said: “I am delighted that Will has been appointed as our new Chair. Over the past nine years his presence on the Board has already had a huge impact, and we’re excited about the role he’ll play in helping us reach even more children who need our support across the UK in the future.”
Will Robertson comments: “Having been part of The Wave Project for nine years, I have seen the incredible difference Surf Therapy makes to young people’s lives. I am proud to take on the role of Chair and to continue working alongside such a brilliant team, as we grow our impact and help even more children access vital support through the ocean and other blue spaces.”
Will steps into the Chair role following a period of renewal for the charity’s governance, with five new trustees joining the Board in the past year. Together, they bring new perspectives and experience in finance, safeguarding, strategy and lived experience, strengthening the charity’s ability to meet the growing mental health needs of young people. As we look ahead, we are focused on ensuring every child who needs our support can access it.
