Wave Project North Yorkshire receive donation from The Borough of Scarborough Community Fund.

The Wave Project North Yorkshire are delighted to have received a donation of £500 from the borough of Scarborough Community Fund. At a presentation held at Scarborough Town Hall, Wave Project North Yorkshire Coordinator,  Chris Carter, received a cheque from the Mayoress of Scarborough. The donation will be used for the Wave Project North Yorkshire Surf Club, which benefits the young people who have been on one of our award winning surf therapy courses and are continuing to surf with us.

The Borough of Scarborough Community Fund Committee members raise funds throughout the year for the benefit of local groups and organisations. Funds are raised through holding various fund raising events throughout the year, such as a Summer Fair, a Christmas Fair, tombolas, raffles, and the Mayor’s Annual Ball.

Wave Project North Yorkshire Coordinator, Chris Carter, said “this is a fantastic donation from The Borough of Scarborough Community Fund, I’d like to thank everyone who has attended one of their fundraising events, that has enabled so many worthwhile groups in Scarborough to get some funding and continue some amazing work in the area.” “It was great to be able to meet the Mayor and Mayoress of Scarborough, although I did feel a little underdressed for the occasion.”
