Wave Rangers is a Sport England-funded project that supports young people from disadvantaged areas in North Devon and Torbay to engage in and benefit from volunteering opportunities in the natural environment.
The project aims to boost the mental health and wellbeing of young people aged between 10 and 20-years-old, by providing the opportunity to get more involved with their local environment and community through surfing, social action and long-term volunteering.
As part of the project, participants will also gain the John Muir Award – an initiative that connects young people to nature through volunteering involvement.
The project has no costs to the young people, families or schools involved.
